- When the sky is red at the setting of the sun, that is a sign that the following day will be fine. When the smoke goes up straight it is a good sign also. A ring near the moon is a sign of fine weather. When there is a dew on the grass in the evening, it is a sign of fine weather. Other signs of fine weather are, the sky to be free of clouds; voices to be heard a considerable distance away; to see the crows flying home very late and up very high in the sky; a red colour at sun-set and to see twinkling stars in the sky.
