And on my way on to the bray
    So slowly I did go
I saw a crowd of strong young men were hurrying to and fro
The girls were standing round them cheering for the boys
And the name they were calling for,
    Was the Farney Fontenoys
Oh: to see them playing football
There was none to make them yield
    They always won the laurel
    No matter on what field
To hear them coming from each victory
Their cheers would reach the sky
And the girls would say, they won the day,
    The Sturdy Fontenoys
The new Church at Broomfield is a place of high renown
It's a credit to its helper
Both here and beyond the sea
    Long life to Father Conlon
For him high bells do chime
He shall never be forgotten in Lovely Donaghmoyne
