  1. Over fifty years ago it was believed that those born on Whit Monday or St Patrick's Day got power to cure diseases.
    In this locality people believed that if you drank half a pint of flax water daily for a week, it would cure toothache.
    Mary Barney drank it, and was cured.
    She is living still.
    Some believe that there is a remedy in spa-water for rheumatism. If you wash yourself in it three times in succession the rheumatism will leave you.
    Mrs Lynch of Moyledeg tried it and was cured.
