    heard to say to his groom, that he would hunt with the devil if the occasion demanded. while hunting that day a stranger was noticed by the company in general to be participating in the hunt, keeping directly in front of Squire Connolly. Curious to know who the stranger was the Squire invited him to dinner. The cards were produced, when dinner was over,and the Squire and the stranger, played late into the night. The Squire was steadily losing and as the butler was serving the wine, he noticed that his master was being cheated. A card - the Ace of Spades fell on to the floor, and as the butler stooped to pick it up, he saw with horror that the stranger had a cloven hoof. In great fear
