    Weather Lore
If the swallows fly under a bridge it is a sign of rain.
If the cat sits with her back to the fire it is a sign of snow.
When the shadows of the trees and hills appear on the lake it is a sign of rain.
When crowds of seagulls come inland it is a sign of rain.
When the mountains look near at hand it is a sign of rain.
When the wind comes rom the west rain is expected.
If a crane goes up the river it is a sign of good weather. If she goes down it is a sign of bad weather.
