    to form a hollow in the middle. After a fortnight the ribs are tied to the frame, and all the weaker rods are intertwined with the strong sallies. The basket being complete accomplished is used for various purposes viz:- carrying turf, and principally for teeming potatoes. These hand-made baskets are very rare nowadays, but still in some places this custom is not quite exstinct.
