In olden times when money was a great obstacle and especially in my district because the people were a remarkably poor race they (the people) were unable to pay a doctor or a nurse to cure their poor patients. Therefore they had to place confidence in themselves to bring relief to their sick.
The people always had great belief in the efficiency of a poultice to cure a pain, a boil or a sprained joint.(continues on next page)- Collector
