There is a cave at the end of Vale View. There are fairies in it.
One time two men were passing by the cave, and they had a heifer with them. The heifer ran in, and the cave closed up. It remains closed up 'til this day.- Informant

- My townland is called Gortnasal... It got this name from the willow tree.
There was a field of willow trees growing in this village one time. It is said that these trees were cut down, and brought away to make handles for pikes. The first of the word means- field and the other part means willow tree(continues on next page)
