- A potato crop is very useful now-a-days, and it was more useful, long ago, because the people used much more of what, they produced, on their farms, and they bought very little, in the shops. We generally sow a half-acre, or three roods, of potatoes every year. Most of the farmers, sow their potatoes in dulls, or ridges. The first thing to be done, when making ridges, is to plough the land.(continues on next page)
