- A number of years ago the whole of Ireland was visited by a plague called by the local doctors, "Flue." This disease was stated to be caused by the clouds of poison-gas carried in the air from the battle fields of France. When people contracted this disease they were shunned by their neighbours who dreaded contracting the disease. Numbers died wants of care and attention and many sad instances are still told.(continues on next page)
