    A Local Happening
    This story happened in the life time of Miss Connor's mother, wo lived in the village of Boheroe, in the parish of Elphin and County Roscommon.
    There was a station held in this woman's house about one hundred years ago, the woman of the house where the station was held was "bringing butter" from a neighbouring woman of hers. The woman, who was losing the butter was at the station, knew all about what was going on, he put on his stole, and turned the bowl over a plate of prints of butter, which was on the table, and he called the woman of the house a "girra bealtaine" and after reading out of his book, for some time, he turned up the bowl, and there was nothing on the plate where the utter was, but clocks and "curoges"
