    This song was written by Pat Brennan, about 65 years ago, he lived in Castle St., Elphin. He went to Elphin Grammar School, Elphin, Co. Roscommon, being a fairly good scholar, the parson teaching in the Grammar school, took a great interest in him, and helped him on with his education. Brennan, afterwards went to America, where he became a Judge.
