    1. Ringworm : - The people in this district believe than there is male ringworm and female ringworm. The seventh son has "the cure". For male ringworm and the seventh daughter for the female sore.
    When the seventh son or daughter is born, a live worn is procured and placed in the baby's unwashed hand? If the worm dies and withers away in the infant's hand he will have "the cure".
    Many people in and around Elphin have a cure for ringworm : -
