- Fairs are not held in this parish. Farmers usually take their stock to Waterford for sale. Fairs are held in this city on the first Monday of every month. Buyers occasionally visit the farmers houses to purchase stock. The fair is held at Ballybricken square.
When the sale is completed luck money is given. The amount depends on the generosity of the seller. Parties show their agreement when the bargain is made by striking hands. Cattle are marked when bought either red or blue and in some of the hair is cut off. The halter is kept by the seller.- Collector
