to the doctor and told him he would mind the house if hed give him plenty pipes and tobbacco.
    They agreed.
He went to the house and he put in his time filling the pipes about five dozen at a good fire.
He then laid them in ranks on the hob.
About twelve o clock some ghosts came down stairs and they took the pipes and broke them on the floor.
When the last one was broke he said to them, Come on now and pay me for my pipes and tobbacco.
The told him to follow them and they would.
He followed them to a secret room and told him to lift up them boards there.
He did and got a crock of gold there. It was never haunted after that.
The doctor went to live there and was never troubled with ghosts after that.
