they came to Jone's wood where they remained for the nights. Some spies who were there told Cromwell's soldiers of their whereabouts. On the following day the soldiers rushed in and captured the seven and beheaded them. For many years after there was heard an echo on a certain day of each year in the field where the seven Bishops were murdered. Some one would say in Irish "Díolfair as" "Díolfair as". This went on for a long time until one day a certain man answered "Who will" after the echo and it answered again "They will pay for it for seven generations." And the echo was never heard again but the words came to pass for after the seventh generation the Jone's family died out, their place being occupied by new dwellers.
