  1. I live in the townsland of Ardbeg. It is in the parish of Glenmore and in the Barney of Ida.
    Eight families live in Ardbeg and forty persons Three persons are over seventy years. Phelan is the most common name in the townsland. One dwelling house has a thatched roof and seven houses have slated roofs.
    Some of the people in the townsland emigrated in the famine year. There are less houses in Ardbeg now than long ago. There is a ruin in Ardbeg. It is in a field the property of Mrs Roche. One wall of a house can be seen. The land is hilly it is good grazing land. A stream flows through Ardbeg which divide Ardbed from Grogan and Ardbeg from Ballinacrea.
