- The Chapel in Windgap was built in the year 1787. The foundation stone was laid by a man named O'Brien from Ballylanigan. He was offered any privelege he wished for in return for the building of the Church. He asked for his grave next to the Chapel door. He got it but a man named Dwyer died at the Chapel door the first Sunday that Mass was said there and he got his grave next to the Chapel door. Both places are cut away now.
