  1. The road leading from Callan to Carrick -on-Suir is now the main one which is very wide and fitting for traffic. It is called the New Line. It was made 89 years ago at the time of the public works. The old hill road is the one leading from Windgap to Lamogue which is still used. There is another old road which is not used for traffic nowadays. It leads from Dublin to Clonmel. It is through a part of this parish through Frankford, Ballygowan and through Kilmoganny between Kilkieran and Clonmel Binconi. The government started relief work after the famine. The work was making roads, building hospitals and work-houses. The people only got four pence per day working in those times and their diet.
