    six feet in height and about fifteen feet in breadth. The rock weighs up to seven tons. It is supposed that Fionn had a bet with another man to see which of them had the greater strength. It took Fionn three throws to get it to Newtown, and it was thrown from the top of Sliabh-na-mban which is about fifteen miles from Newtown.
    It now lies in a bog near Newtown castle which is a short distance from the chapel.
