    Ballavara is east of Ballyogan. It is a short word for the Barrow Valley. It got this name becuase you could get a grand view of the River Barrow passing over the weir.
    Knockeen.
    Knockeen when translated means little hill. It is so called becuase there is a little hill out there.
    Coolroe Means "Red Hill". Mount Brandon is on the east and when the sun shines on Brandon it is like a red flame. One of the mose ancient houses in Coolroe is Farrell's. This house was built nearly one hundred years ago.
