- (continued from previous page)Graigue Co. Kilkenny made pikes. He was very skilful at it. He is dead about 45 years. He used hide them in the moat of Aclare. He had one brother who helped him. It is said that one of the Hammonds was caught making the pikes and that he was hanged. Pikes were hidden in a double ditch near Garners of Copenagh. They were also hidden on Brandon Hill about twenty yards from Franey's Well.
