    Riddle me, riddle me, ranty ro,
    My father gave me seed to sow,
    The seed was black and the ground was white,
    Riddle me that and the moon to-night.
    Answer "Paper, pen and ink."
    A head like a thimble,
    A tail like a rat,
    You can guess for ever,
    But you would never guess that.
    Answer: "A pipe."
    Patches upon patches, without any stitches, Riddle me that and I will buy you a pair of breeches.
    Answer: "A head of cabbage."
    What goes over a ditch before a cow.
    Answer: "Her breath."
    Flies high, flies low wears shoes and has no feet.
    Answer "Fine gravel."
