Spelling, Reading, Writing, Arithmetic were taught.
School room 9½' x 14', thatched, no window 1 table and boards for seats, 1 room and kitchen for accommodation of Master, whole length 29½' x 14'
Books - 5 on the First Communion, 6 Vosters, 24 Universal and Rational Spelling Books, 4 Manson's Primers, 2 Reading Made Easys, 20 Catechisms all purchased by parents. - Patrick Cantwell opened school here in 1822, educated in Paulstown and Gowren
