A man named John Hayden, who lived near the Cave of Dunmore was in very poor circumstances. He met with heavy losses notably his horses, and he had nothing to do his work with. One night as he was passing near the Cave, a voice spoke saying, "Take this horse and be kind to him; feed him well."
The horse worked well for a time while he fed him. This day, he fed his own better, and neglected the strange horse. Immediately it shoot the tackling off, and galloped off to the Cave, and was never heard of after.(continues on next page)- Collector
