- Once there lived a landlord in Ballycallan. One day, as he was coming home from Kilkenny after signing his name to have people pay higher rents, and when he came to his gate he was afraid that someone might be hiding to kill him. He tried to make the horse jump it but as he was jumping he fell off him and broke his neck.
- There was a man coming home from rambling and it was very late at night. When he was passing by a rath he heard music, but he was not afraid. Another time a man made a road through the same rath and all his cattle died. Another time a man saw fairies hurling on the same rath.
- There was a man passing through a field in Corstown and it was twelve O'Clock in the night. He saw great crowds of very tiny men(continues on next page)
