Mc Matt, and who lived where Mr. Loughheid now lives 1½ miles from Castleblayney, was only two feet six inches.
This Andrew Mc Matt had townlands in Aughnamullen East and Canon Mc Mahon of Aughnamullen was then a tenant of Mc Matt's.
Re. the Boycotting of Big Tom Mc Mahon, my informant - Paddy Callan of Bracca told me that Fr. Gaughran who was then curate in Broomfield had something to do with the Boycotting as Big Tom refused the curate a site for a Land League Hut upon his lands at Bracca.
The Fr. Gaughran - above-mentioned, put up a great fight for the tenants on the Bath Estate, and largly due to his efforts was accomplished the sale of the Bath Estate. He - Fr. Guaghran - put up a wonderful fight for the tenants and later on he went to America for purposes of health. He died in New York in poverty despite all he did for the tenants on the Bath Estate.
