- Rainstorm
In the year 1803 there was a most severe rainstorm. The rain fell for three days and three nights, there was much damage caused to land lying along rivers. It was in the month of October, and the farmers had to wait till the flood subsided to get out their potatoes. When the flood subsided the drills were levelled and most of the potatoes were carried away with the flood.(continues on next page)
