    decided to knock it down for fire-wood, but on account of where it grew no one would give him a hand. So, he worked at it himself, chipping away with a small hatchet day after day.
    One morning coming to his work as usual he was surprised to see the shape of a beautiful Chapel "engraved" on one side of the tree. A stormy night knocked it down afterwards. This part they tried to burn, but ti would not light.
    So, they buried it beside the well. For months afterwards a lovely light could be seen hovering over the spot. This old well is still, at Channonrock, Louth, Co Louth.
