- There are fairy forts in the school district. Some people call them raths and others forts. There is a fort in the townland of Farthagarman and there is another in Lisnaguivera and there is another in the townland of Beaghamagheross. They are in view of one another. It is said that long ago the fairy people used to play music in these forts. Around these forts there is a fence of furse. There is an old story told about a man named Luke Cassidy who owned a ring of a fort about thirty five years ago. He ploughed it and put potatoes in it and a few days after he died.
