    as twelve houses on them. There are still the ruins of some old houses but the farms in Drumgowna now are large even larger than in the adjoining townlands. There are a few old people in Drumgowna one of these named Rafferty is over eighty years. He is the oldest resident in the district. There are stories told of some of the fields which can be still pointed out that were exchanged for a creel of potatoes and a cake of oaten bread in the bad times.
