  1. There are at least nine Graveyards in this parish. Their names are as follows. Magheross Graveyard, The Protestant Graveyard, Catholic Graveyard, Convent Graveyard, Carrickmaclim Graveyard, Raferagh Graveyard Corduff Graveyard and the Poor House Graveyard. They are all still in use except the Workhouse Graveyard. It is not in use since the Workhouse was closed. Corduff Graveyard is only open about sixty years. It surrounds the Catholic Church. Raferagh Graveyard is also surrounding the church there. The headstones in these Graveyards are mostly made of marble and slate. In the Graveyard in Carrickmacross known as "The New Cemetery" there are some beautiful headstone and also a magnificent Calvary erected some years ago.
