  2. There was a man a long time ago and there was a statue of the Blessed Vergin at a church convenient to where he lived. He went to that place every day or night and said a prayer to the Blessed Virgin. It happened that he got into trouble and was sentenced to be hanged.
    On his way to the scaffold he had to pass this statue. As
