  1. There was a man named Simon Mc Elroy living in the townland of Tyramedon. He earned his living by the making of shoes. An old friend of Simon’s died. Shortly after his death as Simon was sleeping in his bed, he was awakened by a voice calling him at the window. Simon at once recognised the voice of his deceased friend. Simon sat up in his bed and called out “In the name of God who is that”. The voice answered “come out to the garden tomorrow night and I will meet you there.
    Simon was afraid to go to the garden alone on the following night so he took his son Jack with him. When they arrived in the garden the man was awaiting them and he was standing with his back towards them. He told Simon to come back to the garden alone on the following night. Simon and Jack went home and
