    journeys. Sometimes this bird singly or in pairs rises high in the air and flies straight for the Slieve Beagh mountains which are some miles from here. When we see these birds going in this way to the mountains we look upon it as a sure sign of fine weather at hand and when on the other hand we see them return we feel just as sure that wet or rainy weather is at hand. Again when we see these birds loitering around the neighbouring streams, drains, rivers lakes or swamps we are always in the middle of a spell
