    before the first ploughing.
    When this has been done it is then as we say "ploughed in" at the first ploughing.
    The ground is afterwards cross-ploughed, grubbed and harrowed and then the drills are raised and when this is done more farm-yard manure is added, but a less quantity is put on, on account of the previous manuring. We usually sow some special potato manure over the farm-yard manure and when these particulars have been attended to other things being equal, we usually have a fine potato-crop.
