    On this day hardly anyone will bathe in the neighbouring lakes as it is not thought to be lucky to enter water on this particular day and indeed the number of drowning accidents which occur at this time would lead one to believe this.
    Again it sometimes happens that persons say out minding cattle or the like sit down to rest and perhaps if the day be fine and warm fall asleep on Whit Sunday. Should this happen such persons on awaking have been observed, at least in certain (way or other) to have become afflicted in some way or other. They generally suffer on awaking from loss of
