    your self at the same time. She charged nothing but she used to smoke and everyone that went to her brought her an ounce of tobacco.
    Sometimes when felons came on peoples fingers it was cured with a small green shrub called rhue and a herb called felon grass. The rhue and felon grass were chopped up together and mixed with boiling grease made from lard. It was then put on a cloth and applied to the felon and stitched lightly on and left there for some time which was very painful.
    Some old women in the district made ointment for burns and scalds out of herbs such as daisies and primroses leaves and dandelion and ribbon grass.
    The old people had a cure for sore throats. It was to burn salt and put it in a stocking and lap it around
