  1. Marriages usually take place before lent and advent. It is said that it is unlucky to get married on a Friday or Saturday. The first Wednesday of every month is said to be a lucky day to get married. The month of May is an unlucky month to get married in.
    In some places matches are made before two people get married. This is not done in this district. When people are getting married the bride gets a fortune from her parents. Money is usually given.
    At a wedding a feast is held at the bride's house. The straw boys visit the house. The people like to see they are coming. They dress up in straw and wear straw hats on tops of their heads.
