    potatoes are the earliest varieties. The more common potatoes are the Snowflakes, the Champions,and the Kerpinks. The potatoes are sown in drills. The drills are first opened with a plough. Then the potatoes are sown about ten inches apart.The manure is put into the drills over the potatoes. Then the drills are closed.When the potatoes are up after a while they are sprayed in the month of June.When the stalks are all withered away the potatoes are finished growing.
