  1. Forts are not very common in this district, but in nearly every townland there are the remains of some to be seen still.
    On my Granny's farm there was one, but there are no traces of it now.
    It was a very large one and a road went through the middle of it and there were white thorn trees growing all around it.
    The first time anybody went to plough it, the sod was turned back three times. After the third time it was alright. My Granny lives at Glenkeen, Clonaslee, Leix.
    There is another fort down near Brittas wood. A man said he saw
