- My townland.
The name of the townland in which I live is Glenkeen. It means the "Crying Glen". There are seven families living in it. Dunne is the most common name. All the houses are thatched with straw, and scraws are placed underneath to keep up the thatch.
The river Clodagh rises not far away, just on the outskirts of the townland.
Brittas wood is very near and Brittas artificial lake also. There are not very old people living in our place, the oldest being over sixty. They know some Irish, but not much and they are not able to speak it fluently. Theresa .J Kelly
