    Bloom. He spent his early days in Cappinarrow and later in the employment of Mrs.Sawyer at Longford Cross. This lady always did her own stewarding of her workmen. This Ryan was always opposed to and once after a heavy rainfall twas found that the bridge spanning the river which ran through her farm had been taken away by the flood. Ryan in a satirical mood wrote thus; The sporting Delour did its work tight,
    Knocked down three bridges.one short Summer's night.
    No female inspector upon us dare frown,
    More power to the waters that threw the bridge down.
    He is buried in the graveyard at Camross parish church. A stone marks his resting place. The first part of his epitaph is;
