    the fireside were,Horns King Horns, in this game one of the players had a piece of stick and all would rub a bit of board on one of the players Knees saying "horns king horns" then rise calling out some animal that did not wear horns and if the players lifted their finger when the animal called out had no horns they were liable to a good crack of the stick and visa versa.Another game was drawing strokes in the ashes supposed to be beds and the person drawing them would put some imaginary person in each one, generally some one not a plesant bed fellow, then each would be asked in turn which bed they would lie in and if it was occupied by some old cross or not very clean person they would be clapping and
