- The folklore on pages 128 to 131 was taken down by Moira Doyle from her father James Doyle,Peafield,aged 60. LabourerOne day a mouse fell into a vat of beer and a cat was passing by a nd she called the cat to pull her out. The cat said "yes,if she would let her eat her when she would pull her out. The cat caught the mouse gently and lifted her out and then the mouse told the cat to leave her down until she would dry. The cat did so and the mouse saw a hole in the wall and ran in and then the cat asked the mouse to come out and stick to his bargain. The mouse said don't mind me(continues on next page)
