The winds of March made a bet with April, that it would skin the old cow but it was not able and they borrowed three days from April, but they were not able to skin the old cow. Then March had to borrow nine more days from April and they skinned the old cow, The first thirteen days of April are always very cold and these are called the "Days of the old Cow."
    On Christmas night the people are supposed to leave the door open, and a lighted candle on the table, and a fire lighting, because the Blessed Virgin is supposed to cross the country with the infant Jesus in her arms, and this is to welcome her into each house
    On the first of November the children have many games which they play before the Winter comes and to welcome out the Autumn
