    in charity to the poor people. Captain Grant used to change the shoes on his horse and put them on backways so that he was traced in the opposite direction from which he went. The district around Ballinakill and Boleybawn and Moate are supposed to contain much buried gold.
    Rumour has it that a large crock of gold was found there some years ago. Some families grew wealthy in a short period of time.
