    sounds. He looked up and saw a ghost. It moved around the room and took up a chair. It brought the chair down to the fire where the man was sitting. He placed it exactly opposite him and sat down. Neither of them spoke for a while. Then the man took courage and asked the ghost what business he had in the house. He replied that he was the ghost Miser, and was a very wealthy man when living. He was always called the Miser.
