    him that God probably meant him to found his monastery there. It was in this way he came to Clonenagh. He founded a great monastery there, and, himself, and his monks lived there.
    All went well in Clonenagh until the coming of the Danes who destroyed it. The monks for a third time rebuilt it, but it was again destroyed by the Danes. The monks could not afford to build it anymore, so it was left so. The great monastery has now dissappeared. There is nothing to be seen there now only three grave-yards
