    the milk could take away the produce of the dairy. People got up very early to be the first to take water from the wells. It was believed that evil - minded people who would skim the wells would also take the produce of the dairy. it was from the ownen of the well that the produce of the dairy would be taken. There is a story told about an old woman whose name was Mrs Dooley. She lived in Moyrath. She went to the well one May morning. There was an old woman there before her. This old woman went away when she saw Mrs Dooley coming but she left behind her a suggan made of straw. The owner of the well picked it up and brought it home with her. She left it behind the door of her dairy and
